Thank you for your tremendous modeling of agape in action, in all the photographed and not-photographed moments and systems you all have created in collaboration.
I have lived in several US cities (SF, NY, DC, briefly Seattle, Kalamazoo, and now Metro Detroit, currently for five years, trying to move); and not until I started seeing the news of your protests and resistance did I imagine Americans in my lifetime showing up for each other and their vulnerable neighbors in such numbers and with such no-nonsense ferocity, in subero temps no less. Over the years I have become deeply disillusioned by most people’s apathy, complicity, and exclusion both professionally and in my experience of illuminating the abuse and negligence of a landlord in Detroit. I have never experienced anything like the care you show to each other in MN, I did not know white folks had such heart and resolve! :-) I wish I had tried living in the Twin Cities the past 10 years! Your collective spirit of care has given me some hope back in humanity. More importantly you are showing that we are all humans deserving of dignity and safety. Go Twin Cities!!!
