One of the most powerful things a dear loved one of mine said to me that changed my life for the better was the phrase “I am on your team.” Thank you for being part of one of the strongest, bravest, most resilient, dedicated, solidarity-oriented, social-justice driven teams we may ever know in our lifetime. Your commitment to our community overwhelms me, but even more than that, fuels me with hope. Thank you for doing big and small things with great love. Our history books and our reflections of the past will remember you as the good guys. Thank you for stepping up and doing the work that you should never have even had to volunteer for in the first place.
