I am a St Thomas grad who makes frequent trips back to the motherland to see family and maintain my Midwestern accent (you betcha). My neighbors in Birmingham, Alabama showed up last night on short notice to shine a light for Minnesota. If thousands of Minnesotans can brave below-zero temps to march, to bring food to their neighbors and to video ICE, ten of us in the deep South can stand in mild drizzle at 50 degrees to show our solidarity.
