In times like these, we are reminded of our history. We have long been a nation where the rule of law is paramount, that all men are created and treated equally under the law, and that noone is above it. We have also long been a nation where we have cherished our rights of free speech, of peaceful protest, of the press and of religion. And we are acutely aware of when these rights are violated. What is happening now is the same exact tyranny the founding fathers warned us of, it is the same tyranny they fought a war of independence over, and it is the same tyranny our country fought against during World War 2. To everyone who is taking a stand, know that you tread in the well-worn footsteps of generations of patriots, who have sacrificed their tears, their sweat, and even their blood to safeguard these rights for all future generations of Americans.
