I can’t even imagine the pain and suffering you are going through as a community, but I want you to know that my family and I see you and our hearts are hurting at what is happening to you and your neighbors. There are probably no words that can really ease the pain, but at the very least I want to bear witness and acknowledge your humanity. I just donated to a bunch of gofundmes and mutual aid groups… it’s not a lot, but I hope it helps some. As a fellow Midwesterner, I am proud of the fight you are giving these ICE thugs. Don’t lose hope. The news doesn’t show us, but you have massive solidarity around the country. The fear you are experiencing is real, but the bravery and compassion you are showing is just as real and so powerful. Your efforts matter.
