As a German whose grandfather was Jewish, I currently see parallels with the end of the Weimar era where political violence and far-right militia spread violence in the cities of Germany. There was a chance back then to avoid what happened next as there is now in USA. However, I’m afraid that too many who can stop this (Dems in Congress) aren’t acting out enough. However, us Europeans learnt that Trump can be beaten. If you stand up to him he gets scared. He threatened to declare war on us, we sent soldiers to Greenland and he backed down. (Tim Walz activated the the National Guard). He threatened tarrifs and he threatened back. He caved and gained nothing (his “deal” is the one from 1951). The people of Minnesota frighten him and inspire everyone else. Stay strong, stay safe.
